 The air volume of the centrifugal fan can be adjusted in the following ways:
1. Install a regulator: You can install an air volume regulator, such as an adjustable damper or regulating valve, to control the air volume of the centrifugal fan. These regulators can be opened or closed to limit or increase the flow of air.
The adjustment of the centrifugal fan outlet damper is to change the characteristics of the pipe network, not the characteristics of the fan. The air volume adjustment range is usually below the fan's rated performance curve under all operating conditions.
2. Adjust the impeller speed: The air volume of the centrifugal fan is directly proportional to the impeller speed. By adjusting the speed of the motor, the rotation speed of the impeller can be changed, thereby adjusting the air volume. This can be achieved by adjusting the voltage, frequency of the motor or using a variable frequency drive (VFD).
3. Adjust the angle of the impeller outlet guide blades: The impeller of a centrifugal fan usually has adjustable outlet guide blades. By changing the angle of these blades, the air volume output can be changed. Smaller angles reduce air volume, while larger angles increase air volume.
4. Parallel/series connection: When larger air volume is required, multiple centrifugal fans can be connected in parallel, that is, their outlet pipes are connected together. This can increase the overall air volume. On the contrary, if the air volume needs to be reduced, multiple centrifugal fans can be connected in series, that is, their inlet ducts are connected together.
5. Adjust the inlet and outlet resistance: By adjusting the inlet and outlet resistance, the air volume output of the centrifugal fan can be affected. Increasing resistance will reduce air volume, while decreasing resistance will increase air volume. This can be achieved by adjusting the opening of the air duct, using a regulating valve or damper, etc.
