Why does an SCR retrofit require a new induced draft (ID) fan?

A waste-to-energy plant installed an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system to achieve ultra-low emissions.
The addition of SCR equipment increased resistance within the flue gas system, thereby altering the operating requirements for the existing ID fan.
SIMO Blower supplied a replacement ID fan with the following specifications:
189,588 m³/h | 15,588 Pa | 150°C
3.4-meter impeller | 2,240 kW motor
The logic is straightforward:
Adding equipment to the flue gas system changes the fan's operating requirements.
Fan selection must be based on the fully upgraded system, rather than relying solely on the parameters of the original fan.
